Angel Project 2011

December 1 update-

If you want to help sponsor children for the Angel Project but  were confused by the previous email and website info here are the facts:

We do have corporate/individual  sponsors for the kids on the list that was emailed and put on the website but wanted to have a stash of unwrapped gifts given by Travis Park  to have on hand for the day of the party for 2 reasons.

1) extra children not on our lists often show up

2) we want to balance the numbers of gifts given to family groups so that one child in the family doesn’t get much more or much less than another child.

In addition to these needs, we are receiving additional calls every day for sponsorships.  We are looking for sponsors of 15 children in two families ranging from age 1 to 16, no more specifics than that.  We need unwrapped gifts and also clothing items like socks, underwear, hats, gloves for these children.  Any and all sizes may be used.

Additionally, we believe we may have a few hundred people at our party and are looking for help with foods for the lunch, sandwiches, chips, cookies, fruit.

Thank you for your support of our children.

Gifts for Children
We are asking for help from our Travis Park family in choosing gifts for our angels that are enriching and educational.  We are working with corporate and individual sponsors who will provide clothing and wish list toys.  We would like to add to that with gifts like the ones listed below.

Books – all kinds and ages
Science Kits
Dinosaur books/kits
Geo rocks kits/books
Universe books/planets
Journals/pens for teenage girls
Leapfrog educational toys for little ones
Number or Alphabet electronic games for kids under 4

All gifts are due by Sunday, December 3rd.

Please give your gently used gift items that the children will be choosing from as gifts for their adults.  These items can be jewelry, photo frames, small décor items, holiday items.  You may turn them in at the church office.

We also need support for our party.    We can use cash or donations of paper plates, cups, plastic utensils, food for the lunch, gift wrap and tape, ink and paper for our photo printers for the Santa photos.  Please contact Velia Suarez (velsua@aol.com, 413-9621)  or Carol Kohrs(ckohrs@travispark.org, 226-8341 ext 334) if you are able to help with this.

We need volunteers day of the party as well for set up, clean up and helping during the party with crafts, gift wrapping, Santa photos, gift distribution and more.
